Fullerton Friday Night Lights Preview

04/09/2025

This Friday, April 11th, Cal State Fullerton will host the inaugural Fullerton Friday Night Lights, a prime opportunity for athletes to fine-tune their performances at the season’s midpoint.

The meet opens with the 4x100m relays before shifting focus to the 1500m races. In the men’s 1500, Liam Mapes (unattached) holds the fastest seed time at 3:46.21. On the women’s side, Cal State Fullerton’s Ashlynn Viramontes is the top contender, entering with a 4:36.95 personal best.

Cal State Fullerton senior Joshua Hornsby headlines the Men’s 110m Hurdles with a time of 13.69. A proven competitor, Hornsby placed third at last year’s Big West Championships and was the MPSF indoor runner-up in the 60m hurdles.

The men’s 100m dash is shaping up to be one of the night’s most exciting races. Cal State Fullerton’s school record holder, Ian Dossman, enters with a 10.16—currently ranking him 14th in the NCAA. Close on his heels is teammate Abel Jordan (10.19), an NCAA indoor qualifier and the U23 European Record holder in the 60m dash.

In field events, CSU Bakersfield’s Javier Toro leads the men’s hammer throw with a personal best of 63.64m.

With standout talent across the board, the Fullerton Friday Night Lights promises an exciting evening of competition under the stadium lights.
